NCRST - SEPP Research Synthesis Reports

A Synthesis Report (SR) provides a fundamental document for describing a NCRST-SEPP research activity. The document includes four (4) basic sections and is intended to be a short, high-level research planning document. The sections are described as follows: 1) Task Introduction - Presents the task addressed, personnel involved, and a summary statement about the opportunity, 2) Traditional Approaches - Presents and briefly discusses traditional methods used to perform the task in a conventional EIS.  These tradition methods presented will serve as the baseline for comparison with proposed streamlining methods, 3) Streamlining Apporaches - Presents options for employing CRS&SI technologies in new and innovative ways to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, or accuracy of the highlighted EIS task.  This section should briefly describe alternative possible adaptations, web links to similar efforts, strengths and weakness of varying approaches, approaches recommended to provide the highest benefits, and the anticipated steps and benefits of proposed technology, and 4) Expected Deliverables - Presents project timelines, discusses end users, data and applications requirements, impacts and needs, and steps necessary to transfer the technology to user communities (Synthesis Report Template).
