Streamlining Environmental and Planning Processes (NCRST-SEPP)

NCRST - SEPP: May 2009 Memphis Workshop (Link To Results Page)

A workshop has been planned to bring together NCRST-SEPP research team members along with the Advisory Panel, practitioners, and experts to consider research directions and results, to identify areas of greatest need for delivering practical results to community of users, to define areas of highest benefits of project results, and to refine methods of describing and delivering benefits to user communities and practitioners. This workshop is planned for May 6-8, 2009 to be held in Memphis, TN.

Purpose: The purpose of the NCRST-SEPP workshop is to evaluate research tasks, activities, outcomes, and results of the NCRST-SEPP project, outline areas of greatest needs for the community of practitioners for corridor planning and environmental assessment processes, identify methods to highlight areas of highest benefit of the NCRST-SEPP project, review project outcomes and provide guidance for refining deliverables, and identify target opportunities to optimize the delivery of products to the user community.

Objectives: The objective of the workshop is to provide a forum that is ideal for engaging the research team, Adisory Panel, and colleagues to present the status of research project findings, engage community of practice experts in discussions of precedent projects/studies, conduct panel discussions and breakout sessions about community needs, how to address needs, highly relevant applications, and methods to optimize deliverables. The expected outcome of the workshop is a series of concise recommendations as to final steps to complete research tasks, develop final products that highlight results that address significant national needs, and identify optimal methods to deliver products to the community of users and practitioners.
